How to Make Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Rice Krispie Treats
These rice krispie treats come together in under 30 minutes. Here is how you make them! The first thing to do is prep a 9x13" pan by spraying with nonstick spray and parchment paper.

- Step 1: In a microwave safe mixing bowl, melt mini marshmallows, butter, and peanut butter down in 30 second increments until fluid. You can also do this on the stovetop in a nonstick pan over low medium heat.

- Step 2: Mix together with a silicone spatula until the marshmallow peanut butter mixture becomes smooth and uniform. Mix in the vanilla extract.

- Step 3: Add in rice krispies and mix until all combined. Then fold in the semi sweet mini chocolate chips gently. They will slightly melt from the heat and create chocolate swirls throughout! Avoid overmixing.

- Step 4: In a greased and parchment paper lined 9x13" pan, gently press out the rice krispie mixture evenly careful not to press to hard. Spread them evenly but avoid packing the mixture down too much as this can dry out your rice krispies.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Rice Krispie Treats
Equipment
- 9x13" baking dish/pan
- Nonstick Spray
Ingredients
- 20 ounces mini marshmallows (two 10 ounce bags, separate out 1 cup as a mix in)
- ⅔ cup creamy peanut butter
- 8 cups rice krispies cereal
- ½ cup salted butter (1 stick)
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare a 9x13" pan by lining the pan with parchment paper and spraying with nonstick spray.
- In a microwave safe bowl, melt marshmallows, butter, and peanut butter down in 30 second increments until fluid. Mix in the vanilla extract afterwards. You can also do this on the stovetop in a nonstick pan over low medium heat.
- Mix together with a silicone spatula until the marshmallow peanut butter mixture becomes smooth and uniform.
- Add in rice krispies cereal and mix until all combined working a bit quicker to avoid the marshmallow from setting. Quickly, fold in the semi sweet mini chocolate chips. They will slightly melt from the heat and create chocolate swirls throughout! Avoid overmixing.
- Working quickly, gently pour out the rice krispie mixture spreading evenly in the prepared 9x13" pan. Be careful NOT to press and pack them down too firmly as this can dry out your rice krispies.
- Let the rice krispies sit in the pan to firm up for at least 10 minutes before cutting into them. When they are set, slice evenly into 20 rectangle pieces or whatever size you desire. Store at room temperature, wrapped in saran wrap to avoid drying out.
